Position: Fully Qualified Counsellor
Location: Local Schools (Multiple Locations) in Central Otago
Contract: Part-Time (Hours and Days by Negotiation)
A minimum commitment of two days per week is required.

Due to increased demand as a result of growth in this programme, we are seeking a fully qualified, compassionate, and professional counsellor to join our team to provide vital student support in local primary schools around Central Otago. This position offers flexible working arrangements, with specific days and hours to be determined in consultation with the successful candidate.
A minimum commitment of two days per week is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counselling sessions for students to support their emotional well-being and personal development.
Work closely with school staff to identify and address students' mental health and emotional needs.
Maintain a confidential and supportive environment for students to express their concerns.
Offer guidance to students around issues such as anxiety, emotional regulation, relationships, resilience and self-esteem.
Support the creation of positive and healthy school cultures through various wellbeing initiatives.
Essential Criteria:
A recognised qualification in counselling (e.g. diploma, degree, or equivalent).
Full professional accreditation with a recognised counselling body
Experience in providing counselling to young people in a school setting or similar environment preferred.
Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of students effectively.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding standards.
Desirable:
Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of school-based mental health support structures and resources.
