The Impact of Our Programmes:
Our aim is to create meaningful, intergenerational change by empowering adults with skills that enable them to lead more fulfilling lives. Through accessible education, we strive to make a positive impact on individuals, their families, and the wider community.
Adult and Community Education (ACE): The ACE programme enables us to offer classes in the Central Otago region at little or no cost, ensuring accessibility for our community. Central Otago REAP provides a diverse range of courses designed to support the development of essential life skills for adults.
Our digital courses are designed to enhance digital literacy, particularly for mature citizens. These programmes are held for small groups to enable time to learn and practice together. We listen to our learners and deliver programmes that enable participants to develop essential technology skills that are increasingly important in today’s world.
Central Otago REAP are offering the successful ‘Drive My Life’ programme, first developed in Southland, to people in our community, who have left school and who face barriers in getting their drivers licences. We offer classes and practical driving lessons and subsidise the application and test fees.
Courses are offered, including English as an other language, Te Reo Māori and Mātauranga Māori, NZ Sign Language online and a monthly Ako (teaching and learning) NZSL hui held on a Saturday morning. Check out the courses page or contact us to find out more about our language programmes and how we can support your learning.
The Central Otago REAP Choices program is an NZQA-approved education programme tailored to support your unique learning needs. Join a supportive small group setting where you can grow, learn, and take steps toward your future. Sessions will be held in Cromwell and Alexandra from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm on advertised school term days. 1:1 support with numeracy and literacy is also possible where needed.
SuperSkills responds to the needs of their community in a unique way and we are all committed to reaching and responding with kindness and non-judgement to those who ask for our help. Our whānau mentors share their knowledge and skills with people in our communities through the concept of kaitiaki, mentoring the sharing of generational knowledge.
